The DBSL would like to congratulate Daniel “Booms” Brcko, of the Pioneers Pink, on winning the opening DBSL Handicap Series event of the 26/27 Season.
The event was held in Pioneers Snooker Club today. Daniel, a very popular member of the Pioneers Pink Posse, made his first DBSL series final where he came up against newcomer Ateeq ur Rehman of Pioneers Red. Ateeq put up a good fight in the match but the final score was 2-0 to Daniel.
Daniel started off his run to the Final by beating Jo Jo Whelan 2-0 in Round 1, before beating Brian McPhee 2-0 in the Last 16.
Booms then progressed on through the tournament where he beat another newcomer Cian Keogh 2-1 in the Quarter Final and Oscar Cowap 2-0 in the Semi Final.
On the other side of the draw, Ateeq gained some great experience on his route to the final by beating Dehna Bennett 2-0 in the Last 16 and Saad Beg 2-1 in the Quarter Final. Ateeq then went on to beat the dogged Brendan Murphy 2-0 in the Semi Final.
As always, DBSL would like to thank Tournament Director Niall Lawless, along with the Pioneers Snooker Club, for their hospitality throughout the day.
