Congratulations to Robert Moynihan (Transport Club) who made a 117 break in his league match this week against Darragh Lynch (Glenalbyn Blue).

The DBSL would like to congratulate Clayton “The Celt” Cregan, of the Pioneers Blue, on winning the second DBSL Handicap Series event of the 26/27 Season.

The event was held in Roadstone Snooker Club today and sponsored by Thomas Family Financial Services.
Clayton, back after a four month break from competitive snooker bursts back on to the scene with a 2-1 win over Philip Mc Caffrey, of the football team that is Roadstone D.

The Final was a high quality, back and forth tense affair, but after the final blue in the deciding frame, was marginally missed by Phil, Clayton stepped up to take the blue and pink for the victory.

Clayton started off his run to the Final by beating James O’Toole 2-1 in Round 1, before beating his team mate Kevin O’Brien 2-0 in the Last 16.
The Celt then progressed on through the tournament where he beat the highly consistent Robert Moynihan 2-1 in the Quarter Final and Mustafa Alawi 2-0 in the Semi Final.

On the other side of the draw, Mc Caffrey beat Stephen Byrne 2-0 in the Last 16 and Tony Kenny 2-1 in the Quarter Final. Philip then went on to beat the rock solid Ivor Fitzpatrick 2-0 in the Semi Final.

Let’s not forget to mention the much talked about dramatic highlight of the day when the well experienced and exceedingly cunning Pat “The Steady” Smullen convincingly, and without much effort, knocked out the in form, pre-tournament favourite, Stephen Reddington in Round 1.

Once again, DBSL would like to thank Tournament Director Niall Lawless, along with Aidan Bergin and Mick Kearns of the Roadstone Snooker Club, for their hospitality throughout the day.

The DBSL would like to congratulate Daniel “Booms” Brcko, of the Pioneers Pink, on winning the opening DBSL Handicap Series event of the 26/27 Season.
The event was held in Pioneers Snooker Club today. Daniel, a very popular member of the Pioneers Pink Posse, made his second DBSL series final where he came up against newcomer Ateeq ur Rehman of Pioneers Red. Ateeq put up a good fight in the match but the final score was 2-0 to Daniel.

Daniel started off his run to the Final by beating Jo Jo Whelan 2-0 in Round 1, before beating Brian McPhee 2-0 in the Last 16.
Booms then progressed on through the tournament where he beat another newcomer Cian Keogh 2-1 in the Quarter Final and Oscar Cowap 2-0 in the Semi Final.

On the other side of the draw, Ateeq gained some great experience on his route to the final by beating Dehna Bennett 2-0 in the Last 16 and Saad Beg 2-1 in the Quarter Final. Ateeq then went on to beat the dogged Brendan Murphy 2-0 in the Semi Final.

As always, DBSL would like to thank Tournament Director Niall Lawless, along with the Pioneers Snooker Club, for their hospitality throughout the day.

The DBSL would like to congratulate Dean Murray, of the Pioneers Whites, on winning the sixth and final DBSL Handicap Series event of the 25/26 Season. The event was held in Roadstone Snooker Club today. Dean made his first DBSL series final where he faced off against Clayton Cregan of Pioneers Blue.

Dean started off a great run to the final by beating Peter Conroy 2-0 in Round 1, before beating Aidan Phelan 2-1 in the last 16. Dean then progressed on through the tournament where he beat Dehna Bennett 2-0 in the Quarter Final and Tony O’Connor 2-0 in the Semi Final.

The Final was a close affair and both players were in good form as they pushed the match down to a decider. The final frame remained tight, with not much in it between them, until Dean managed to build a 27 lead up to, and including the green, incorporating a fantastic positional shot on the brown to track the last red along the way. Clayton fought hard to get the snooker he needed but finally Dean pot brown and then blue to take the frame, match and title.

On the other side of the draw, Clayton beat Paddy Smullen 2-0 in Round 1 and Michael Kearns 2-0 in the Last 16. Clayton then went on to beat a tough Ivor Fitzpatrick 2-1 in the Quarter Final and Brendan Thomas 2-0 in the Semi Final.

DBSL would like to thank Tournament Directors Stephen Merrigan and Niall Lawless, along with the Roadstone Snooker Club, for their fine hospitality throughout the day.

Special thanks to Brian “The Rocket” O’Rourke for reffing the final. A man who always brings magic to the event.
