DBSL would like to congratulate George O’Hara, of Roadstone E, on tonight’s fantasic performance in his league game against Gavin Stokes.
George was 1-0 down and came back to win 2-1 with two remarkable back to back centuries.
First to level the frame at 1-1 with a 106 and then to drive home the win with a 124.
Well done George.
Dane Daly of Roadstone E also had a 105 in his league match on Tuesday so theres plenty of centuries for the Roadstone boys.

Congratulations to George O’Hara (Roadstone E) who compiled a fabulous 101 break in his league match this week against Christy Ward (Pioneers White).

The DBSL would like to congratulate Ivor Fitzpatrick, of Pioneers Blue, on winning the third installment of the DBSL series handicap events. The event was held today in the Roadstone Snooker Club.

Ivor got off to a rocky start against fellow Pioneer Jamie Shields in their last 16 meeting but came through a tight decider to win 2-1, before taking on Dave Goddard, of Roadstone C, in his quarter final match. There, Ivor faced another decider and yet again came through the victor beating Dave 2-1.

In the semi final he faced the solid Conor Harkin of Roadstone D where he found himself 1-0 down after Conor got off to a great start. Ivor answered with a sensational 83 clearance in the second frame to level the match at 1-1. Conor showed signs of weakness in the decider and the wolf sniffed blood and took control, eventually gaining a commanding lead of 41 points clear with 35 remaining, enough to take the match 2-1 and move on to the final, where he faced Tony O’Connor of Glenalbyn Blue.

Tony had a long but great run to the final himself, beating Tommy Murphy 2-0 in his first round match, then taking down a tough George O’Hara 2-1 in his last 16 match. He went on to beat the mighty Tony Kenny 2-0 in the quarter final and an in form Daniel Brcko 2-0 in the Semi Final.

The final showdown saw Tony, making his debut DBSL final, get off to a strong start, taking the first frame convincingly, before Ivor hit back strong in the second frame to level the match 1-1. Ivor however was solid in the decider, completely shutting Tony out of the frame, and clawing back the lead, to take the decider and win the match 2-1.

Ivor also had the highest break of the tournament with an 83 in his semi final against Conor.

DBSL would also like to thank Tournament Director Stephen Merrigan and the Roadstone Snooker Club as always for their fine hospitality throughout the day.

The DBSL would like to congratulate Daniel Merrigan on winning the second DBSL series handicap event, held today in the Pioneers Snooker Club.

Daniel got off to a flying start to the day with a break of 57 in his first frame, taking down both Stephen Byrne Snr 2-0 in his round one match, and Tony O’Connor 2-0 in his last 16 match.

In the quarter final he faced an in form Niall Lawless but quickly disposed of him 2-0 before moving on to the semi final where he faced a tough opponent in Mark Dunne of Pioneers Pink. The match was tight and a decider was forced but the Machine prevailed again with a 2-1 win and booking himself a place in the final against the mighty Wolf of the Pioneers, Ivor Fitzpatrick.

Ivor himself had a great run to the final beating George O’Hara 2-0, (a match worthy of a final), in his first round match, then taking down Peter Conroy 2-1 in his last 16 match. He went on to beat Daniel McNamee 2-1 in the quarter final and Shane Merrigan 2-1 in the Semi Final.

The final took place live on Table 4 with Daniel taking the first frame to go 1-0 before Ivor came back strong at him pushing the game into a well deserved decider that everyone wanted to see. Daniel punched first in the decider with a modest 21 break but continued on, maintaining control throughout the remainder of the decider, taking victory 2-1 over Ivor.

DBSL would also like to thank Tournament Director Niall Lawless and the Pioneer Club for their hospitality throughout the day. A special thanks to Mark Dunne for supplying the food for the event.

DBSL would like to congratulate Roadstone D’s Conor Harkin on winning the first instalment of the DBSL series handicap events today in Roadstone Snooker Club.

On a long route to the final, Conor took down Lenny Malone in his pre lim match and beat Niall Lawless in his last 16 match. He then went on to beat George Murphy 2-1 in a close fought quarter final and Brian “The Rocket” O’Rourke 2-0 in the semi final.

The Epic final saw Conor come out victorious, marginally beating Pioneer Pink’s Daniel Brcko 2-1, in a nail biting decider which went down to he final black.

Daniel himself had a fantastic and well deserved run to his debut final beating Tony Kenny, Brendan Canavan, Andrew Doherty and Martin McDonald along the way.

It is important for each team to have at least one member attend this meeting to discuss the new season.
